TWhen Google began rolling out search in AI mode last March, it began offering AI-generated recipes. The recipes weren’t particularly intelligent. The AI ​​had taken elements of similar recipes from multiple creators and Frankensteined them into something barely recognizable. In one memorable case, Google AI failed to distinguish satirical website The Onion from legitimate recipe sites and recommended that users cook with non-toxic glue.

In recent years, bloggers who do not have their sites secured behind a paywall have seen their carefully developed and tested recipes appear in ChatGPT responses, often without attribution and in a distorted form.
