Supercars driving standards consultant Craig Baird has a new tool to monitor radio communications between the pits and the car.
Tested for the first time at the Sandown 500 last time out, it uses an artificial intelligence-based app to record, transcribe and store radio messages.
The app is the work of communications engineer Johno Harries, whose diverse experience includes working on Supercars broadcasts via partner Gravity Media.
It was designed primarily to improve the use of radio communications in television broadcasts, expected to be released next year.
However, Baird said that for now he would be allowed to use radio messages in recommendations to stewards during races.
