Alibaba begins selling Quark AI glasses in China, entering the global wearables race

SHANGHAI, Nov 27 (Reuters) – Alibaba (9988.HK)opens new tab launched its new Quark artificial intelligence glasses in China on Thursday, heralding the Chinese tech company’s efforts to break into the AI ​​wearables market dominated by Meta (META.O).opens new tab global.

Unlike other headsets from manufacturers like Meta, the Quark glasses look like normal glasses with a black plastic frame.

Alibaba said the glasses will be deeply integrated into its apps such as payment app Alipay and its shopping site Taobao, allowing users to use them for tasks such as on-the-go translation and instant price discovery.

The company is aggressively pushing into the consumer AI market after lagging behind competitors in the past.
