SHANGHAI, Nov 27 (Reuters) – Alibaba (9988.HK) launched its new Quark artificial intelligence glasses in China on Thursday, heralding the Chinese tech company’s efforts to break into the AI wearables market dominated by Meta (META.O). global.
Prices start at 1,899 yuan ($268.25) for the headset, which is powered by Alibaba’s Qwen AI model and the Qwen app.

Unlike other headsets from manufacturers like Meta, the Quark glasses look like normal glasses with a black plastic frame.
Alibaba said the glasses will be deeply integrated into its apps such as payment app Alipay and its shopping site Taobao, allowing users to use them for tasks such as on-the-go translation and instant price discovery.
The company is aggressively pushing into the consumer AI market after lagging behind competitors in the past.
Earlier this month, the company rolled out a major upgrade to its AI chatbot.
