The University of Kentucky is among the first U.S. institutions to partner with Microsoft in advancing the “responsible” use of artificial intelligence, according to UKNow.
Under UK’s newly established Commonwealth AI Transdisciplinary Strategy, Microsoft joined the Advancing Kentucky Together Network, a coalition of UK’s research, service and learning capabilities, according to the AKT website.
Through the partnership, students, faculty and staff will receive access to Microsoft tools, including Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 and the newly announced Agent Store.
UK developers will use GitHub Copilot, while doctors and nurses will use Dragon Copilot to enhance patient care.
According to UK public relations executive director Kristi Willett, the rollout for these tools is scheduled for the first half of 2026.
