Pension fund employees report the least concern about being replaced by AI employees.
Across the industry, pension funds are reportedly spending millions developing AI chatbots and tools to increase member engagement and personalization.
For example, Australia’s largest super fund AustralianSuper is striving to become the “thought leader” in generative AI and has established a dedicated AI engineering team.
The fund set a goal of increasing productivity company-wide by 5 percent through the implementation of AI, but assumed that this increase in productivity would more than offset the initial technology investments.
But when it comes to how this usage affects staff, top executives were more relaxed than industry peers.
A Finance Sector Union (FSU) survey of over 1,000 people working in financial services found that the introduction of AI tools to employees is raising concerns about their future job security.
