Clop’s Oracle-EBS rampage reaches Dartmouth College

Dartmouth College has confirmed that it is the latest victim of Clop’s Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) breach.

Accordingly a notice of violation According to the New Hampshire Ivy League University’s filing with the Maine Attorney General, between August 9 and August 12, fraudsters exploited a now-patched zero-day in Oracle EBS and stole data from its environment. Dartmouth’s review found that the names, Social Security numbers and, in some cases, financial account information of at least 1,494 Maine residents were stolen. However, it was not stated how many people were affected in total.

The letter said Dartmouth immediately secured its systems, notified law enforcement and later confirmed that several files had been exfiltrated within the three-day period. The university began sending notice letters on Nov. 24 and is offering one year of credit monitoring to those whose Social Security numbers were exposed.
