Iceland is not AI generated, just as it is not a form of metaverse dreams. It’s real.
The island nation’s national airline, Icelandair, has launched a social media campaign called Expedition Island, developed by social-first agency Kubbco in collaboration with Icelandic creative business Hvíta húsið.
The work is based on a campaign concept that leveraged Metaverse’s Mark Zuckerberg’s launch of the Metaverse. This resulted in the Icelandverse, a real world, in 2021.
The latest campaign follows an online conspiracy theorist in a two-minute film who doesn’t believe Iceland is real and confidently shares his views with his followers.
How could volcanoes, hot springs, lava fields, geysers, northern lights and puffins be real?
His sister, convinced that Iceland is actually real, tries to prove it to him by taking him there.
He remains skeptical: “If we are really in Iceland, where is all the ice?”
