Adopting AI will double ROI by 2026 amid rising cloud costs

According to Martin Reynolds, CTO of Harness Field, generative artificial intelligence (AI) will deliver tangible returns for businesses in 2026, but only for those organizations that pursue its adoption with clear focus and discipline.

After a period of extensive experimentation in which many companies tested AI tools in a scattergun approach, attention is turning to more targeted integration. The expected gains will be underpinned by a shift toward applying AI in targeted back-office scenarios rather than flashy front-end capabilities. According to Reynolds, companies are currently seeing a return on investment of around 16 percent from AI programs. This number is expected to double in the next two years as implementations become more sophisticated and targeted.
