States are tightening rules for monitoring WFH and AI-aged workers

Two of the most populous states have moved to impose legal controls on workplace surveillance as work-from-home and artificial intelligence booms, sparking fears among employers that they may be going too far.

Victoria’s Allan government this week backed a parliamentary inquiry’s recommendations to develop new workplace surveillance protections in line with promised work from home laws, as advanced technology tests the limits of workers’ privacy.
