Amazon is ditching the Project Kuiper name for its constellation, announcing a rebrand to Amazon Leo. Along with the new identity, Amazon Leo announced a lineup of terminals — Leo Nano, Leo Pro, and Leo Ultra.

Rajeev Badyal, vice president of Amazon Leo said in a release about the change that Project Kuiper started out as the code name for the project when it was in its early stages, and Amazon Leo is now the permanent name for the brand. Badyal called the name a “simple nod” to the Low-Earth Orbit constellation.

Badyal said Amazon Leo is expected to be offered to “select enterprise customers” by the end of 2025, with a wider service rollout in 2026.

This comes in the midst of a launch campaign for Amazon Leo, which has had six full-scale launches this year, starting in April. United Launch Alliance and SpaceX have each conducted three missions, with the most recent a SpaceX launch on Oct. 14.
