Perplexity users may soon be able to access its popular agentic AI browser, Comet, on their Android devices.
The AI search engine startup has reportedly started sending out invites to select users, who will be allowed to trial the Android version of the browser.
Initially, Comet was only made available to certain Windows and Mac users on an invite-only basis. However, Perplexity later made the browser more generally available.
If you would like to be among the first Android users to test the Comet browser, you need to visit the Google Play Store or the Comet browser website and register. However, it appears that Perplexity’s paid customers and regular users of the AI-powered search engine would get preference for the invites.
“Comet Android early invites are going out. If you want to maximize your chances for early access and shaping how the future of mobile browsing looks like—it all comes down to your Perplexity Android usage and Pro/Max user status! More invites will go out soon,” Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas wrote in a post on X.
Unlike Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox’s traditional tabbed interface, Perplexity’s Comet offers a unique generative AI experience that lets users directly ask questions about the webpage they are viewing, among multiple other use cases.
