4G connected earbuds use AI to create meeting notes

Budget smartwatch maker Mobvoi has launched the TicNote Pods, which combine wireless earbuds with 4G connectivity and AI transcription capabilities and aim to turn everyday conversations into fully indexed, searchable notes and tasks.

Wireless earbuds have evolved far beyond simple audio playback, expanding their capabilities to include features like voice assistants and health monitoring. However, most of the time they are still based on listening and calling. Mobvoi is working to push the category in a slightly different direction with its TicNote Pods: a pair of earbuds designed to capture and process spoken information.

The company describes them as the world’s first 4G-connected AI earbuds for note: a narrow but meaningful distinction that underlines the focus on standalone use. There are already AI note-taking apps and devices, as well as those that can do this by pairing with headphones. Mobvoi combines these features.
