HAMDEN, Connecticut (WTNH) – Security at Eli Whitney Technical High School increases after state police arrested two students who allegedly threatened the school and closed the school for two days in a row.
State Police Sgt. Dawn Pagan said they received information Monday from a parent who contacted Troop I to report a threatening social media post. The school resources officer and detectives from the Central District Major Crimes Detectives were investigating and a 14-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident.
According to state police, he has been charged with first degree threat, second degree breach of the peace, and intimidation based on bigotry and third degree bias.
Pagan said Monday’s incident had been linked to bullying.
